Job summary

Turing is seeking a Life Sciences expert to lead a pod of trainers tasked with building realistic, terminal-based scientific and technical tasks for Terminal Bench Science. You will review every task for scientific correctness, reproducibility, and data compliance, coaching trainers to deliver high-quality analyses.

Responsibilities include end-to-end task review, validation of authentic research workflows, and ensuring reproducibility of pipelines and data handling.

Qualifications

• Ph.D./M.D./MD-PhD with substantial computational work in life sciences.
• Strong programming in Python or R plus Bash; Linux proficiency.
• Hands-on experience with bioinformatics pipelines and biostatistics.
• Understanding of experimental design and reproducibility in biomedical research.
• Proven experience reviewing analyses, manuscripts, or outputs.
• Experience mentoring or leading small technical teams.
• Excellent written communication for precise feedback.

Responsibilities

• Review trainer tasks end to end: statements, datasets, pipelines, and tests.
• Verify tasks reflect authentic research workflows requiring multi-step reasoning.
• Check tools, genomes, annotations, and dependencies for reproducibility.
• Validate genome builds, dosing conventions, imaging orientation, and statistics.
• Ensure graders verify substantive outputs over formatting.
• Escalate biosafety concerns and ensure data is synthetic and de-identified.
• Provide clear feedback and track revisions; onboard trainers; mentor team.
• Maintain pod documentation on guidelines and recurring issues.
