Turing is seeking an experienced Chemistry expert to lead a pod of trainers building terminal-based scientific tasks for Terminal Bench Science. You will review every task for chemical correctness, reproducibility, safety, and grader reliability, and coach trainers to deliver high-quality, challenging tasks.

Responsibilities include checking chemistry workflows, ensuring pinned method specs, and validating energy, geometry, and spectral data.

Qualifications

Ph.D. or equivalent advanced experience in chemistry or related field.
Strong programming skills in Python, C/C++, Julia, or Fortran with Linux proficiency.
Hands-on experience with computational chemistry, molecular simulation, cheminformatics, or chemical data analysis.
Proven experience reviewing code, analyses, manuscripts, or research outputs.

Responsabilités

Review task statements, molecular structures, spectra and datasets, force-field parameters, environments, reference solutions, and automated tests.
Verify tasks reflect authentic chemistry workflows and multi-step reasoning.
Check that computational details (basis sets, functionals, dependencies) are pinned and reproducible.
Validate chemical correctness including units, charge, spin multiplicity, stereochemistry, and convergence checks.
Ensure graders verify energies, geometries, thermodynamics, rate constants, spectral assignments, or molecular properties.
Escalate synthesis or dual-use concerns and provide actionable feedback to trainers.
Onboard and mentor trainers on task design standards and grader design.
