Platform Lead: Kubernetes, CI/CD & Scalable Infra

Job summary

EVAM in Istanbul is seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer to own and grow the Kubernetes platform across AWS/Azure and on‑prem environments. You will manage a platform team, shape architectural decisions, and drive reliability, performance, and security in production systems.

You will design scalable CI/CD pipelines, build observability stacks, and mentor engineers while collaborating with data/ML teams to enable real-time workloads and secure deployment practices.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in DevOps, SRE, Platform/Infra Eng in production environments, with 2+ years in people management
• Strong Kubernetes and container orchestration capabilities including cluster lifecycle, networking, storage and performance
• Experience with AWS and/or Azure, multi-cloud and on-prem environments
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible) and automated platform management
• Experience designing and operating CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar)
• Strong Linux and scripting skills; proven distributed systems troubleshooting
• Experience building and growing technical teams, hiring, onboarding, and performance management

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction and roadmap for Kubernetes platforms across cloud and on‑prem environments
• Own people management for DevOps/platform team including hiring, onboarding, and performance reviews
• Coach and elevate engineers; review designs and raise technical standards
• Define team goals and priorities balancing platform roadmap with individual growth
• Own CI/CD and GitOps pipelines enabling safe, zero‑downtime releases
• Build and evolve observability to ensure rapid incident detection across distributed systems
• Implement autoscaling, self‑healing, and resilience across services
• Collaborate with data/ML teams to scale real-time workloads on Kubernetes
• Lead incident response and postmortems for systemic reliability improvements
• Balance reliability, cost, and delivery speed in platform strategy
• Develop self-service tooling and documentation to enable safe fast shipping
