Job summary

Constructor Labs seeks a Physics Subject Matter Expert to create scientific and educational content for interactive virtual and 3D Physics laboratories. As a Physics Subject Matter Expert (SME), you will create scientific and educational content for interactive virtual and 3D Physics laboratories. You will transform traditional laboratory experiments into engaging digital experiences where students can explore physical phenomena, conduct investigations, collect and analyze data, and draw conclusions.

You will collaborate with instructional designers, content specialists, Unity developers, 3D designers, and QA engineers to ensure that virtual experiments are scientifically accurate, pedagogically effective, and engaging for students.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Team leadership and cross-functional coordination

• Supervise and coordinate the work of SMEs, managing workloads, priorities, and content quality

• Act as the main bridge between SMEs, Product, Design, Unity/Development, and Learn teams to ensure requirements are delivered on schedule

• Oversee workflow and ticketing processes, including task creation, follow-up, and final content checks before formal QA

• Lead requirement gathering fornew contentand translate pedagogical and subject-specific needs into clear, actionable tasks

Content ownership and development

• Oversee experiment and content design, review, and technical requirements across relevant domains, including science, medicine, literacy, and mathematics

• Review UI/UX, assets, and learning flows to ensure scientific or pedagogical accuracy and alignment with learning goals

• Ensure content is designed and reviewed in line with accessibility standards, including WCAG and other relevant educational accessibility requirements

• Support the full lifecycle of content and experiment development, from concept through production readiness

Strategic support and external collaboration

• Contribute toresearchproposals, presales activities, and supporting documentation for strategic partnerships and new business opportunities

• Collaborate with academic advisors, researchers, and other experts to ensure content and documentation meet required standards

• Prepare and deliver presentations, demonstrations, and supporting materials for internal and external stakeholders when needed

Support for key client engagements

• Support large or strategic client engagements where SME input isrequired, particularly for onboarding, implementation guidance, or resolving subject-specific content questions

• Provideexpertiseto help ensure correct setup and use of experiments and learning content in collaboration with internal platform teams

• Track usage and adoption of experiments or learning content for selected institutions and provide reporting when needed

Qualifications and Experience:

Academic background

• Master’s or PhD degree in a relevant field such as Biology, Medical Sciences, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Physiology, Education, Learning Sciences, or a related discipline

Professional experience

• Experience in subject matter expert work, educational content development, or digital learning products

• Experience coordinating cross-functional teams such as Product, Design, Development, or platform teams

• Experience working with multiple subject areas or with SME teams across different domains is strongly preferred

Additionaladvantages

• Familiarity with workflow and ticketing tools such as Jira orYouTrack
• Experience with accessibility standards and inclusive learning design
