Job summary

UiT The Arctic University of Norway invites applications for up to three PhD positions affiliated with the Lie-Størmer Center in Tromsø. The appointed PhD Fellows will conduct research across algebra, differential geometry, analysis and computational mathematics with applications to data science and computational dynamics.

Appointments are for three to four years depending on teaching duties; the nominal length is three years.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in pure mathematics and willingness to pursue PhD.
• Fluency in English and ability to work in an international environment.
• Specify 1–2 areas of interest aligned with the Lie-Størmer Center research themes.

Responsibilities

• Engage in research across algebra, differential geometry, analysis and computational mathematics.
• Contribute to teaching duties if required and manage PhD admission tasks.
• Collaborate with partners across UiT, UiB and Bergen to advance the Lie-Størmer Center projects.
