Job summary

UiT The Arctic University of Norway invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow position in the Centre for Geopolitics, Peace, and Security (GPS). The role focuses on peace, security, and societal resilience in Finnmark, with duties including teaching up to 25% and research across fieldwork, interviews, and discourse analysis in Tromsø, Kirkenes, and Finnmark.

The appointment is fixed-term for three years, with potential for academia-oriented career development and teaching of GPS

Qualifications

• PhD in social anthropology, political science, sociology, peace and conflict studies, or related fields or equivalent foreign doctoral degree.
• Documented expertise in qualitative methods (e.g., fieldwork, interviews).
• Excellent written and oral skills in Norwegian and English.

Responsibilities

• Publish peer-reviewed articles in collaboration with other project researchers.
• Teach on the MPCT master’s program or other GPS courses.
• Contribute to outreach and networking.
• Contribute to applications for external research funding
