Job Description:

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Specialist to support and enhance safety processes specifically in the areas of Production Planning, Assembly, and Quality Assurance. This role will be responsible for implementing and monitoring health and safety regulations and ensuring compliance across these operational departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide recommendations concerning the design, machinery, equipment conditions, maintenance, selection, job planning, and implementation in compliance with OHS regulations—specifically within Production Planning, Assembly, and Quality Assurance departments,
  • Advise on the selection, provision, use, maintenance, storage, and testing of personal protective equipment (PPE),
  • Notify team leaders of necessary occupational health and safety measures,
  • Investigate root causes of near misses, workplace accidents, and occupational diseases; develop and recommend preventive measures,
  • Participate in risk assessments, follow up on the implementation of health and safety measures, and provide feedback specific to the production, assembly, and quality control environments,
  • Plan, implement, and monitor OHS training for employees in accordance with legal requirements,
  • Supervise the working environment, ensuring compliance with mandatory periodic inspections, maintenance, and measurements as required by legislation,
  • Take part in activities to prevent accidents, fires, and explosions; contribute to emergency planning and ensure regular emergency drills and training are conducted in line with the emergency response plan.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree (formal education) in Occupational Health and Safety,
  • Valid Class B Occupational Health and Safety Specialist Certificate,
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an OHS Specialist, preferably in the automotive or metal industry,
  • Experience supporting safety initiatives in Production Planning, Assembly, and Quality Assurance areas is preferred,
  • Proficient in MS Office applications,
  • Strong communication, analytical, and presentation skills,
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and coordination abilities.
