Job summary

Trenkwalder Turkey is seeking a Molecular Laboratory Specialist to perform routine molecular diagnostics, including PCR, qPCR and RT-PCR, and to manage nucleic acid extraction with strict quality control.

You will develop and validate methods, support primer/probe design, report results, and ensure ISO 17025 compliance while maintaining SOPs and LIS data integrity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Veterinary Medicine, Biology, Microbiology or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in molecular laboratory techniques.
• Hands-on experience with PCR, qPCR, RT-PCR and nucleic acid extraction.
• Experience in molecular test development and validation is preferred.
• Experience in veterinary diagnostics and/or poultry diseases is an advantage.
• Knowledge of ISO 17025 laboratory standards is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in laboratory work and documentation.
• Strong quality orientation and a continuous improvement mindset.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to adapt to new technologies and laboratory systems.
• Good command of English

Responsibilities

• Perform routine molecular diagnostic tests, including PCR, qPCR and RT-PCR
• Conduct nucleic acid extraction processes and ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results
• Develop, optimize and validate molecular diagnostic methods and protocols
• Support primer and probe design and the development of disease-specific testing methods
• Analyze, interpret and report laboratory test results through laboratory information systems
• Prepare and update SOPs for molecular laboratory processes
• Ensure compliance with ISO 17025 quality standards and laboratory documentation requirements
• Manage and monitor internal quality control processes
• Follow calibration, maintenance and proper use of laboratory equipment
• Follow new technologies, diagnostic kits and scientific developments and support their implementation
• Provide support to serology and bacteriology laboratories when required and collaborate with other laboratory teams
• Prepare regular reports on laboratory activities and test results for the Laboratory Manager
