Job summary

Çalık Enerji is seeking a Mechanical Group Chief for the Erbil Wastewater Treatment Plant Project in Iraq. The role requires leading mechanical works, coordinating installation, testing, and commissioning, while ensuring OHSE compliance.

The ideal candidate has a mechanical engineering degree, 15+ years in industrial projects, and 5+ years in wastewater plants, with strong leadership and English proficiency. Travel and Iraq project experience are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in industrial projects.
• At least 5 years in wastewater treatment plant construction projects.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and MS Office.
• Advanced English (written and spoken).
• Strong leadership, communication, and reporting skills.
• Willingness to travel.
• Experience in Iraq is a strong asset.

Responsibilities

• Organizing and monitoring mechanical works, including machine equipment installations, piping systems, and commissioning of all mechanical systems.
• Following the installation schedule according to the project timeline, organizing the site engineer, supervisor, and foreman teams reporting to them.
• Ensuring the installation process is carried out in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety and Environmental Management System procedures.
• Handling the procurement processes of special installation and test equipment to be used in mechanical installation and commissioning works.
• Tracking the material supply process, coordinating the schedule of construction machinery to be used in installation works with other disciplines.
• Supervising subcontractor work tracking and control, checking progress payments.
• Handling and monitoring possible revisions in projects.
