University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) Europe in Adana, Turkey seeks an Adjunct Faculty to teach Mathematics on-site. This role supports nontraditional learners across diverse programs and emphasizes real-world applications and student mentoring.

Applicants must hold a master's degree in Mathematics or related field and have relevant academic or professional experience. Legal status to teach in country is required, with commitments to presence 5 days a week.

Qualifications

• Education: A master's degree in Mathematics or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
• Experience: Relevant academic and/or professional experience in the field.
• Legal Status: Applicants must have and be able to maintain their own legal status in the country in which they apply to teach.

Responsibilities

• Adjunct faculty bring our pre-built curriculum to life through real-world expertise and active mentorship.
• Be Visible: Maintain an active classroom presence at least 5 days per week, introducing yourself with a welcome announcement and driving discussions.
• Bridge Theory & Practice: Enrich the pre-built curriculum with your own professional expertise and real-world examples.
• Build Belonging: Foster an inclusive, culturally responsive environment where adult learners feel supported and motivated.
• Responsiveness & Feedback: Stay consistently engaged with learners throughout the course by responding to inquiries, returning feedback, and posting final grades within the expected timeframe.
• Proactive Support & Collaboration: Monitor progress, partner with success coaches and portfolio directors to refer struggling students to UMGC support resources, stay connected with the faculty community.
• Course Structure & Time Commitment: Course delivery formats vary; most courses are delivered in accelerated 8-week sessions; class size varies; teaching requires substantial commitment throughout the term.
