Job summary

EPAM Systems is seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer to drive Azure platform automation across AKS, identity, and golden-image pipelines. You will lead CI/CD-based delivery for our IaC engine and partner with architects to standardize and scale.

You will implement Terraform/OpenTofu modules, manage AKS, configure add-ons, and integrate secrets management with Azure Key Vault. Strong leadership and English proficiency are required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building and operating Microsoft Azure infrastructure using Terraform/OpenTofu with CI/CD
• Experience operating AKS clusters in production, including networking and namespace management
• Leadership experience guiding IaC standards and delivery across teams
• Strong Terraform/OpenTofu skills for modular design and drift detection

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain Terraform/OpenTofu modules for Azure services and databases
• Manage AKS platform day-to-day including cluster provisioning and onboarding
• Configure AKS add-ons and policies for secure, scalable operation
• Implement identity wiring for Azure workloads via managed identities and registrations
• Integrate secrets management using Azure Key Vault for Azure workloads
• Build and maintain Image Factory pipelines for VM and container golden images
• Execute Ansible playbooks for VM post-provisioning and image handoff
• Support Backstage golden-path templates for Azure provisioning and validate end-to-end infrastructure
• Troubleshoot production issues across Azure automation modules during implementation and adoption
• Contribute to module testing, drift detection, and IaC engine documentation
