Job summary

BorgWarner is seeking a laboratory-focused engineer to drive continuous improvement, risk assessment, and measurement method development across lab and inline processes in Turkey. You will lead MSAs, support CMM programming, and collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering and Quality to ensure robust measurement systems and compliance with safety and environmental standards.

The role requires a degree in Engineering, 5+ years in metrology or material analysis, and strong analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical).
• 5+ years in metrology, material analysis or technical cleanliness.
• Hands-on statistical analysis experience.
• Understanding of drawings and technical documentation.
• Electrical schematics knowledge preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and problem solving.
• Knowledge of VDA 19.2 and IATF 16949.
• FMEA, MSA, SPC and PPAP familiarity.
• Minitab experience is a plus.
• Excellent communication; fluent English and Turkish (B2).

Responsibilities

• Owner of chemical risk analysis and management for laboratory chemicals.
• Owner of measurement order system.
• Drive continuous improvement of lab safety, equipment and methods.
• Develop measurement methods and perform MSA studies.
• Lead projects for new lab equipment acquisition and implementation.
• Support failure analysis of internal and customer returns.
• Assist Manufacturing Engineering/Quality in inline measurement method choices.
• Provide CMM programming support as needed.
• Assist quality engineers with RCA for measurement systems.
• Support supplier quality during PPAP for new suppliers' measurement methods.
• Ensure compliance with EH&S and energy efficiency policies.

The role is responsible for ensuring continuous improvement in the laboratories and the related processes. This role contributes by ensuring correct capabilities in the laboratories, that all analysis activities are done with correct priority and that MSAs exist for re-occurring measurements. In addition, the role is responsible to ensure each lab has corrected risk-assessment and correct preventive safety actions in place.
