ACCEL Schools is hiring a highly qualified 5th-8th Grade Science Teacher for STEAM Academy of Warrensville Heights in Cleveland, Ohio. You will prepare and deliver engaging lessons, differentiate instruction, and monitor student progress using research-based practices to drive achievement.

The ideal candidate holds an active Ohio teaching license in the content area and a bachelor's degree in education or related field, along with excellent written and verbal communication.

Qualifications

• Active Ohio teaching license in appropriate content area.
• Bachelor’s degree in education or related field.
• High level of comfort in a growth-focused coaching environment based on observations and progress monitoring.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to pass federal and state background checks.
• Experience working within an urban environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver lesson plans with the ability to modify accordingly during the school year.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students.
• Maintain accurate and complete records of students’ progress and development.
• Utilize research-based best practices in daily planning and classroom instruction.
• Manage student behavior in the classroom.
• Create a positive classroom environment for students to learn in.
• Utilize school-approved curricula reflecting diverse backgrounds.
• Implement school-wide culture expectations and norms.
• Communicate and meet with families regarding academic and social-emotional growth.
• Incorporate technology skills into daily classroom practice to support learning.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with colleagues.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
