Job description

Travco is a leading global hotel accommodation provider with over 35 years experience supplying hotel accommodation to the B2B travel industry. We are now offering a position based in Istanbul to strengthen our presence in the Turkish market. The new role will be a remote position, in the form of an independent/individual contractor. After an initial period with the company, it is expected the candidate will have the opportunity to help grow and expand the team further, including the possibility of adding further team members and progressing with management and leadership opportunities.


Main duties & responsibilities
The contractor's main duties and responsibilities will be:

  • Negotiating contracted rates and availability with both existing and new hotels.
  • Loading contracted rates and specials via our online contracting system.
  • Maintaining and monitoring our existing relationships with hotels with frequent visits and calls to hotel sales and revenue managers in Turkey.
  • Establishing new partnerships with hotels that we do not currently work with.
  • Analysing statistics and growth figures to drive forward Company profit and volume.
  • Coordinating with our Freesale, Sales, Reservations and Accounts teams to ensure a smooth working relationship.
  • Achieving specials with individual hotels, rate amendments, overrides, setting sensible targets etc.

Salary negotiable – depending on experience

Competencies Required
We are looking for an individual who has very good communication skills both oral and written. Someone who is well organised and good with deadlines and targets. A real Team Player but also able to work on their own initiative. Previous experience in Purchasing, Hospitality or Sales is a must. Should have an analytical approach and good mathematical skills with the ability to understand basic profit and loss calculations.

Desired Skills and Personal Specification:

  • Proficient in English and Turkish, reading and writing.
  • IT literate with adequate knowledge of MS Office.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Driving Licence preferred
  • Schengen visa is an advantage to join international trade shows
