The main task will be to contribute to lead and develop overall hardware design with electronic hardware design teams which is capable of designing various network devices including Ethernet Switches, Routers, Wi-Fi Access Points and 2G/3G/4G Femtocell.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Directly supervise various levels of team members by setting the tone for the team, environment and providing individualized coaching, training, and mentoring,
- Get involved in design process which schematic, PCB design and validation for embedded hardware design with Altium Designer,
- Take a role in designing system actively such as designing sub-systems and selection critical components with team,
- Hardware design testing for high speed standard and protocol such as PCIE, USB etc. with team,
- Responsible for documents for designs, test and prototyping with team,
- Get involved in system bring-up in the lab requiring HW, SW and FW integration and collaboration with Software and Mechanic teams,
- Lead design phase, implementation phase and prototyping with team.
REQUIREMENTS
- Making decisions regarding the parameters such as system design, architecture, and topologies. Steering design development cycle and guiding colleagues in design teams,
- Mentor hardware design engineers, work with cross functional teams consisting of mechanical, software engineers,
- Helping the team in managing all aspects of pre and post hardware design phases throughout schematic, Layout, simulation, bringing-up boards including test and validation such functional and qualification tests,
- Must be highly motivated, self-directed and able to work in a team environment,
- Experience in designing prototype and production hardware. Expertise in hardware design for embedded applications including the following: SOC, microcontrollers, Ethernet Fabric Switches, microprocessors (ARM), FPGA Processor peripheral interfaces (PCIe, USB, SDIO, DDR, I2C, CAN, SPI, RGMII, QSGMII, SGMII, SMI, MDI, MDIX etc.),
- Experience in RF signal propagation characteristics and RF impedance matching techniques, modulation concepts, amplifier and linearization technologies, digital and analog filters, broadband RF receiver and amplifier chain design, test methodology and test equipment is plus,
- Experience isolated and non-isolated SMPS DC-DC converter topologies such as Buck, boost, flyback etc,
- Experience with highspeed digital design projects, schematic and Layout design. Strong understanding of best practices for Rigid PCB/flex layout and HDI PCB, impedance-controlled traces, different via styles (THT, blind, buried, micro-via, back-drill) PCB Stack-Up and PCB DRC (Design Rule Check),
- Understanding of the hardware electronics manufacturing process, product life cycle; mechanical drawings (2D drawings), producing BOM (Bill of Material) and PCBA Assembly documents (Pick and Place, Critical Component List according to MSL, Battery etc.) Reflow Soldering Profile of PCB),
- Knowledge of EMI/EMC and environmental Condition analysis, regulatory pre-test and debugging (MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-810, EN 61000),
- Using electronic lab equipment such as oscilloscope, multimeter, digital power supply etc.,
- Contribute the design teams for design documents throughout preliminary design phase, detailed design phase, implementation phase and production phase,
- Preferably programming in VHDL FPGA programing language,
- Preferably min. 7-year experience in hardware engineering and design,
- Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem-solving ability,
- Preferably experience in Agile/Scrum management methodology and programs such SVN, Redmine,
- Ability and willingness to travel domestically and globally as necessary.
