Job summary

Ödeal is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer to strengthen detection, response, and defensive security operations. You will manage SIEM, audit logging, and WAF/EDR, while leading incident response and maturing IR playbooks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of professional cybersecurity experience.
• Experience in fintech/banking or regulated industries is a plus.
• Hands-on experience with SIEM platforms, audit logging, and security monitoring at scale.
• Strong knowledge of log management on clustered technologies (Elastic/OpenSearch, Kafka, etc.).
• Familiarity with open-source security solutions.
• Experience with incident response, EDR, email security, and WAF management.
• Strong analytical skills and proactive problem-solving mindset.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in Turkish and English.

Responsibilities

• Manage and improve the SIEM platform, onboarding log sources, rules, alerts, and dashboards.
• Own end-to-end audit log management with tamper-resistant collection and retention.
• Lead incident response activities from detection to post-incident review and refine IR playbooks.
• Administer core defensive tooling: EDR, email security, and endpoint protection; tune for security and operations.
• Manage WAF configuration and tuning to protect web apps and APIs.
• Design and operate robust, HA log management solutions using open-source tech.
• Mentor junior security engineers and grow the team’s overall capability.
