Job summary

Ödeal is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer to strengthen detection, response, and defensive operations within our fintech platform. You will lead SIEM enhancements, audit logging, and security monitoring at scale to protect payments and data.

The role requires collaboration with product and security teams, mentoring junior engineers, and tuning EDR, email security, and WAF configurations for resilient, compliant systems. Fluency in Turkish and English is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
• Minimum 4 years of professional experience in cybersecurity, security operations, or a related field.
• Experience in fintech, banking, or other regulated industries is a strong plus.
• Hands‑on experience managing SIEM platforms, audit logging, and security monitoring at scale.
• Solid experience with log management on robust, clustered technologies (e.g., Elastic/OpenSearch, Kafka, or similar).
• Strong familiarity with, and comfort using, open‑source security solutions.
• Practical experience with incident response, EDR, email security, and WAF management.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive problem‑solving mindset.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in Turkish and English.

Responsibilities

• Manage and continuously improve our SIEM platform, including log source onboarding, correlation rules, alerting, and dashboards for threat detection.
• Own audit log management end to end, ensuring tamper-resistant log collection, retention, and availability.
• Lead and coordinate incident response activities from detection through containment, eradication, and post-incident review.
• Administer and optimize core defensive security tooling, including EDR, email security, and endpoint protection.
• Manage WAF configuration, rulesets, and tuning to protect web applications and APIs.
• Design and operate log management on robust, high-availability technologies, using open-source solutions where appropriate.
• Mentor and support junior security engineers, sharing knowledge and growing the team’s capability.
