Overview
We are looking for a Financial Controller for our global business partner which is in retail industry.
Direct report to EMEA director. Responsible for the overall financial management, including timely closing of books and financial reporting of the local entity.
Responsibilities
- Proactive analysis of the monthly financial statements for the business and make comparison of actual results to budget to support the country director to implement corrective actions.
- Establish, implement, and monitor financial controls, which would include approvals and authorizations and review of all financial controls periodically.
- Support to the development of annual budgets and forecasts for the region.
- Management and control of creditors to ensure that the value of creditors is maximized whilst paying within agreed payment terms.
- Manage tax efficiencies and tax reporting, ensuring full compliance for all local tax reporting and optimization where applicable.
- Liaise with governing officials (ie. taxation bureau), lawyers and auditors to ensure observation of changing regulations.
- Maintain control of lease agreements, insurance policies, outsourced services, professional contracts, employment benefit and retirement plans.
- Work closely with functional team to constantly improve productivity and quality of the finance accounting operations, systems, and processes.
- Coordinates annual independent audit and internal audits performed by group.
- Handling HR process like payroll, side benefits of employees. (health insurance, life insurance, lunch ticket payments etc..)
- Controlling the payroll calculations and collaborate with 3rd party.
- Management of the Company's IT systems and equipment by following regular routines and in the case of problems by liaison with third party IT service provider.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of related working experience.
- Degree or professional qualification in Accountancy/Finance, ACCA/CA/CPA qualified.
- Strong technical skills in IFRS, GAAP, consolidation and internal governance and control procedures.
- Working knowledge of fiscal and accounting regulatory and compliance issues locally and the Netherlands.
- Strong ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and adhere to internal and external reporting deadlines.
- Business partnering skills of maintaining effective stakeholder communication and management to drive value in financial reporting processes and ensure quality and data of financial information.
- Understand and consider country-specific laws and regulations / policies / fiscal requirements to ensure compliance.
- Excellent written and communication skills in English.
- Good IT knowledge.
- Flexible attitude to change.
