Job Description

The Field Service Technician (FST) oversees and executes the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of Avery Dennison systems and equipment at customer locations. The role requires technical expertise, leadership, customer service skills, and the ability to utilize emerging technologies (IoT, AR, AI) to enhance service outcomes. The FST plays a vital role in transforming field service operations by adopting data-driven, proactive service models, using remote monitoring tools, collaborating across teams, and maintaining high service standards.

Qualifications

Technical Expertise:

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, including hardware and software used in the apparel industry such as thermal printing, RFID technology, applications, and automated machinery with PLCs and IoT.
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills, both onsite and remotely, leveraging digital tools and data-driven processes.

Communication:

  • Fluent in English, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent communication skills for customer interaction and translating technical details into understandable solutions.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships and understand their evolving needs.

Problem-Solving & Analytical Skills:

  • Strong critical thinking and quick diagnosis skills, with a focus on delivering solutions under pressure.
  • Ability to analyze large datasets from ticketing and digital tools to identify patterns and root causes.

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical, or related fields, or equivalent technical certification/experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in the field service industry.
  • Experience with remote support technologies such as video assistance, AI Video, and troubleshooting tools.
  • Proven experience working with complex systems and emerging technologies like RPA, IoT, Service Max.
