Mission Statement

To lead Engineering function at Power Transformer factory at Kartal/Dilowasi, Istanbul, Turkey. He / She will be responsible for overseeing the design, development, and integration of Hub engineering requirements and systems into the manufacturing processes of power transformer factory.

How You Will Make An Impact
  • Lead and manage a team of senior & experienced transformer designers and project engineering leaders overseeing all aspects of power transformer design (electrical, mechanical, and controls).
  • Demonstrate ownership of project engineering deliverables in compliance with customer contractual agreements, specifications, and industry standards.
  • Implement Hub APMEA engineering strategy in the factory.
  • Establish and maintain Hub / PL engineering processes to deliver on expected targets.
  • Deliver Hub APMEA PL-PT engineering KPIs (Key performance indicators).
  • Map and assess engineering resource capacity and monitor through Hub engineering guidelines.
  • Ensure aligning engineering team goals with those of overall Hub / PL business goals.
  • Collaborate with other factory functions such as manufacturing, planning and order fulfilment, Quality and testing to align and deliver on win-win strategies.
  • Lead representation in customer forums through kick-off and design review meetings keeping in mind the long- and short-term impacts of proposed engineering solution.
  • Pursue innovation, speed with passion in every task planned to be delivered through the team.
  • Engineering Risk management by leveraging DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effect analysis) process while ensuring optimized engineering solutions.
  • Support manufacturing, testing, supply chain and quality to help resolve technical issues with timely and proactive completion of assigned tasks.
  • Keep an eye on the post-delivery status of units and ensure two-way feedback with Service team.
  • Follow evolving technology developments in global and local transformer industry and maintain communication with global technology and engineering experts.
  • Follow global trends on supplier and material developments and identify opportunities for product improvement.
  • Participate in local and global technical forums serving power transformer industry.
  • Possess knowledge of Indian and International Standards & Codes – IEC, IEEE, BIS, DIN, ISO, ASTM, NEMA applicable to power transformers, shunt reactors and associated components and materials.

Your Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. Master’s degree in Engineering is a plus,
  • Minimum of 15 years of relevant professional experience & 5 or more years of industry experience of leading an engineering team responsible for electrical / mechanical project engineering applied to Power Transformers and Shunt Reactors (preferably 400kV and above for US and Middle East market).
  • Working experience of leading transformer cost optimization and competitiveness improvement projects will be preferred.
  • Familiarity with 3D CAD and productivity tools (SAP, engineering design tools, PLM – product lifecycle management) will be preferred.
  • Exposure to engineering quality improvement tools such as Statistical analysis of NCs, design and test parameters, Six Sigma tools, managing customer complaints will be an added plus.
  • Strong communication & planning skills.
  • Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required
