Responsibilities

• Coordinate GENG Logistics, resources and Host Nation Support (HNS) with Logistic Division, JFC and Contractors.
• Represent GENG to DCOS Support disciplines.
• Develop and monitor GENG Logistics and HNS arrangements within LANDCOM area.
• Contribute to MILENG logistic plans and Engineer Appendices.
• Input to Recognized Military Engineer Picture and LOGFAS.
• Identify shortfalls, risks and surpluses in Engineer Logistics and Resources.
• Support WG/B and HQ Sustainment WG/B as required.
• Contribute to NATO doctrine and publications.
• Submit observations and contribute to Lessons Learned.
• Advise Command on MILENG Logistics and resources issues.
• In crisis, apply tasks to Planning cycle and contribute to ORD/FRAGOs.

Job description

The Engineer Resource and Logistic Specialist provides engineer resources and logistics support to the Operational Planning Group and deployed forces within Allied Land Command. The role involves coordinating logistics, resources, and Host Nation Support, contributing to military engineering logistics plans, and supporting operational planning and crisis response.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all matters related to GENG Logistics, resources and Host Nation Support (HNS), including coordination with Logistic Division, JFC and Contractors.
• Acts as GENG representative to DCOS Support disciplines.
• Coordinates and monitors development and implementation of GENG Logistics, resources and HNS arrangements within LANDCOM Area of Responsibility.
• Contributes to development of MILENG logistic plans and Engineer Appendices in Operational Staff work.
• Provides input to Recognized Military Engineer Picture, Recognized Logistic Picture and LOGFAS.
• Identifies and highlights Engineer Logistic and Resource shortfalls, risks and surpluses.
• Supports Requirement Review WG/B, HQ Sustainment WG/B and HNS WG as required.
• Develops and maintains input to NATO doctrine and publications.
• Submits observations and contributes to Lessons Learned process.
• Advises Command on MILENG Logistics and resources issues.
• In crisis, applies above tasks to Planning cycle and contributes to Land Coordination Orders, OPORDs, FRAGOs.

Requirements

• University Degree in Military engineering Disciplines, logistics, transport or related discipline and 2 years function related experience, or Higher Secondary education and completed advanced vocational training in that discipline leading to a professional qualification or professional accreditation with 4 years post related experience.
• Three years’ experience as engineer at Division Headquarters level or higher in Combat Engineering.
• Experience in Military Logistics (General) involving logistics management, planning, organizing, and directing logistics functions.
• Ability to work under general direction within a clear framework of accountability with substantial personal responsibility and autonomy.
• Experience in planning own work to meet objectives and processes, influencing customers, suppliers and partners at account level.
• Experience in communicating fluently, orally and in writing, and presenting complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Leadership experience at Battalion or higher level or equivalent executive experience in civilian sector.
• Planning experience with military organizations above Brigade level.
• Ability to schedule own work and manage project teams to meet objectives.
• English language proficiency at SLP 3333 (Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing).
• Willingness to deploy in support of military operations and exercises, including short notice deployments up to 183 days in any 547-day period.
• Candidates must be nationals of a NATO member country and aged between 21 and 60 at appointment time.
