Job summary

CACTUS Communications is seeking an Editor with a PhD in Public Health or Epidemiology to refine manuscripts for global publication. You will apply subject-matter expertise to ensure scientific accuracy and discipline-specific clarity while improving language quality.

This role involves reviewing and editing manuscripts, preserving authors' meaning, and ensuring alignment with journal guidelines. You will maintain high standards of academic writing and support researchers worldwide.

Qualifications

• A PhD degree in Public Health or Epidemiology (mandatory).
• Strong publication record, with 5–10 or more first-author publications (mandatory).
• Prior peer review experience.
• Ability to critically assess study design, methodology, statistics, and interpretation.
• Demonstrated ability to critically evaluate scientific content and ensure discipline-specific accuracy.
• Excellent written English and attention to detail.
• Prior experience in scientific editing or academic publishing is preferred.

• Ensure that subject-specific terminology, conventions, and scientific arguments are accurate, consistent, and appropriate for the target audience.
