Qualifications

What are we looking for in this position?

* We are seeking a team member for the role of Ford Trucks Bodybuilder / Upfit Engineering Team Member.

* The candidate will work within the Bodybuilder engineering team, serving as a crucial link between Bodybuilders (Upfit Producers) and Ford Trucks. They will collaborate closely with various bodybuilder companies in Turkey and other markets to provide technical guidance related to Upfit.

* Responsibilities include planning and participating in bodybuilder audits according to company procedures, coaching bodybuilders in engineering, production, quality & control, vehicle delivery, shipment, aftersales, maintenance, and self-development. The candidate will actively participate as an auditor in these audits.

* They will monitor vehicle changes to assess impacts on upfitting and coordinate related activities between bodybuilders and the engineering team. They will also handle Upfit Requirement Assessments for new Ford Trucks projects.

* The role involves coordinating with domestic and export bodybuilders for exhibition vehicles with upfit, ensuring alignment of production timing with exhibition schedules, and supporting the Ford Trucks Bodybuilder Web Portal updates and improvements based on market needs.

* They will oversee the integration of type approval updates into the web portal, manage legal documentation with bodybuilders, and support ongoing vehicle requests to ensure customer satisfaction.

* The candidate will develop bodybuilder know-how, share best practices within Ford Trucks, and evaluate cycle plan projects to support field requirements.

* Responsibilities include creating upfit specifications, signing off on new projects, learning and updating upfit standards, coordinating vehicle and upfit tests, and tracking claims related to upfitting to implement preventive actions.

* The role also involves using CAD programs for upfit requirement assessments, gathering customer feedback, and ensuring quality standards are met throughout project phases.

Technical & Behavioral Skills and Competencies

* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Mechatronic, Electrical & Electronic, or Automotive Engineering.

* Class B Driving License; no obligation to travel.

* Strong skills in Quality, Customer Orientation, Presentation, MS Office, and English.

* Growth mindset, problem-solving skills, and teamwork contribution.

* Experience with Tcad programs such as Vismockup, Catia, AutoCAD.

* Minimum 2 years of automotive industry experience.

* Knowledge of ISO 9001 & ISO 16949 standards, production & manufacturing methods, vehicle production and delivery, and homologation/type approval processes.

* Familiarity with project phases, gateways, test procedures, and design processes (DVP, FMEA, Teamcenter, GD&T).

* Proficiency in problem-solving techniques (8D, 6-sigma, 5W+1H, Fishbone).
