Demand Planning Specialist

We are currently looking for a Demand Planning Specialist to join our Supply Chain team in Türkiye. In this role, we will expect you to work with internal stakeholders to forecast the demand plan for various products handled throughout the local region. The primary focus of this role is maintaining optimal forecast accuracy to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.

What will be your responsibilities within bioMérieux?

  1. Develop effective forecast models based on business trends and demand patterns
  2. Collaborate with business units to understand business plans and convert them to product forecasts
  3. Conduct monthly meetings with different departments to review sales history and forecasts and discuss corrective action where required, prepare monthly S&OP business reviews
  4. Daily allocation management for local customers
  5. Support management with risk assessments and mitigation activities
  6. Identify and implement solutions to improve demand forecast accuracy
  7. Manage obsolete stock, identify potential risks, take required actions to avoid excess stock and align with internal customers
  8. Take preventative actions to reduce scrap levels
  9. Highlight gaps in the demand planning and ensure any required actions are on track
  10. Build and sense check baseline forecasts and perform root cause analysis of demand issues and implement permanent solutions
  11. Control the forecast bias and take action for correction through communications with Sales&Marketing team
  12. Monitor and report on important changes in sales forecasts, budgets, and business strategies
  13. Address demand-related issues in a timely and effective manner
  14. Serve as liaison to supply chain team to provide guidance on new product scope and forecast families as well as changes in existing products
  15. Identify continuous improvement initiatives to maintain or enhance delivery service while reducing costs and inventory.
  16. Build and proactively maintain relationships with other supply chain colleagues across the region

Who are you?

  1. Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain or other relevant fields.
  2. Minimum 5 year experience in demand planning preferably on IVD and/or Medical Devices or Pharmaceuticals
  3. Proficient in SAP, SAP APO (or similar planning tools), MS Office (especially Excel)
  4. Solid understanding of inventory management practices and processes
  5. Strong mathematical and statistical knowledge
  6. Strong analytical skills including the ability to distill, synthesize and draw conclusions on data
  7. Capability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Turkish and English
  9. Ability to manage conflicting priorities while working with tight deadlines
  10. Business and customer oriented
  11. Ability to work in an international environment
