Responsibilities

The Mobile Service Technician is responsible for maintaining the fleet for clients and handling service calls at client locations. Provide exceptional customer service, including cleaning, maintenance, visual inspections, and removal of parts and attachments. Installation will be performed with the help of manuals, report writing, disassembly, assembly, parts reuse evaluation, and reconditioning.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain all aspects of equipment according to company standards.
  • Perform basic maintenance tasks such as fueling, oil checks, cleaning, and inspections, documenting all as required.
  • Manage inventory control for the service truck and ensure the vehicle is properly stocked.
  • Report to the Service Manager and complete assigned duties daily.
  • Be available for after-hours service calls and maintain an open work schedule.
  • Maintain and inventory tools required for maintaining diesel engines and related equipment.
  • Read job orders and observe vehicle operation to determine malfunctions and plan work procedures.
  • Use diagnostic equipment and technical information to identify issues and perform repairs.
  • Diagnose, remove, and replace parts such as injectors, pistons, liners, cam shafts, cylinder heads, bearings, oil pans, clutches, fan hubs, differentials, fifth wheels, brakes, batteries, transmissions, and other components.
  • Complete diagnostic and documentation tasks using the company computer system.
  • Inspect safety devices and make necessary adjustments.
  • Lubricate moving parts and verify repairs meet specifications.
  • Perform preventative maintenance as requested.
  • Accurately document work performed and submit paperwork promptly.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and foster positive customer relations.
  • Advise customers or service writers of upcoming repairs or services within the next three months.
  • Participate in training sessions and apply learned skills on the job.
