K Ships is a ship management company operating bulk carriers and general cargo vessels, and is in the process of establishing a dedicated tanker management division. In line with our commitment to the highest standards of safety, quality, and environmental protection, we are seeking a qualified DPA / HSEQ / Vetting Manager to join our shore-based management team.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Minimum seagoing experience as Master or Chief Officer on tanker vessels.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in tanker shipping, including shore-based management exposure.
• In-depth knowledge of international maritime conventions and codes (ISM, ISPS, MARPOL, SOLAS, ISO standards).
• Proven capability in safety and quality management systems.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and leadership skills.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English.

Main Responsibilities

• Fulfil the duties and responsibilities of the Designated Person Ashore (DPA) in accordance with the ISM Code.
• Oversee and manage the company’s Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) system.
• Ensure compliance with ISM, ISPS, MLC, MARPOL, SOLAS, and other relevant statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Organize and follow up on SIRE, CDI, oil major (Shell, ExxonMobil, BP, Chevron, etc.), PSC, Flag State, and Class inspections, and when required, attend vessels during such inspections.
• Conduct internal audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations; ensure implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
• Maintain liaison with flag administrations, classification societies, port state control, and other relevant authorities.
• Provide professional guidance and support to both shipboard and shore personnel in matters of safety and quality.
