A leading equipment maintenance company in Turkey is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to perform maintenance on CAT machines and troubleshoot issues. The ideal candidate should have a Grade 12 certificate, a trade certificate as a Diesel Mechanic, and 2-3 years of surface mining experience. Qualifications

Afrimat Mpumalanga, based in Nelspruit has a vacancy for a Diesel Mechanic.

Minimum Qualifications / Experience

  • Grade 12 certificate
  • Trade Certificate as a Diesel Mechanic / Earthmoving Mechanic
  • 2-3 years of experience post apprentice on surface mining
  • Knowledge of tools and lubrication processes
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Knowledge of CAT engine systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot engine, transmission, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical issues and air conditioning
  • Analytical thinker with auto-electrical and mechanical aptitude
  • Excellent time management and great team worker
  • Willing to work independently and under pressure
  • Willing to work overtime when required

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Pro-Actively maintain equipment required for the safe execution of operational activities
  • Perform first line maintenance tasks on loaders, dumpers, excavators and LDV. Preferably Exposure to CAT Machines (730C ADT, 966G FEL).
  • Perform service intervals on TMM as per site and OEM specifications
  • Perform daily pre-start and run-down inspection on TMM which includes topping of lubricants, greasing and replacing G.E.T.
  • Perform daily static brake testing on TMM
  • Perform monthly dynamic brake testing on TMM
  • Perform oil sampling and be able to read, interpret and action oil sampling report
  • Diagnosis, troubleshooting, fault finding and repair as expected from mechanic, and participation in HIRA.
  • Submit parts requisition for TMM to the Foreman to ensure critical spares availability
  • Attend to breakdowns and complete job / timecards
  • Maintain company tools and equipment ensuring all is in good and safe working order
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Travel to various sites when required
