Job summary

AppNation is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to own and evolve the cloud infrastructure behind our AI-powered mobile apps. You will collaborate with engineering teams to build reliable, secure, and cost-efficient systems on Google Cloud Platform, improving how we ship software and supporting products used by millions.

This hands-on role covers infrastructure, automation, observability, and production reliability, with opportunities to shape the infrastructure roadmap and engineering practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering with production ownership.

Responsibilities

• Design, operate, and scale infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform for mobile apps and services.
• Build and maintain infrastructure as code with Terraform.
• Develop and improve CI/CD pipelines with automated checks and safe rollbacks.
• Deploy and manage containerized workloads with autoscaling and efficient resources.
• Strengthen observability with metrics, logs, tracing, and alerts; track service reliability targets.
• Lead production incident investigations, document root causes, and implement improvements.
• Improve cloud security with least-privilege access and secrets management.
• Optimize cloud spending and performance through capacity planning and cost analysis.
• Collaborate with engineers to automate operations and maintain backups.

We’re looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to own and evolve the cloud infrastructure behind our AI-powered mobile apps. You’ll work closely with our engineering teams to build reliable, secure, and cost-efficient systems on Google Cloud Platform, improve how we ship software, and support products used by millions of people worldwide. This is a hands‑on role with ownership across infrastructure, automation, observability, and production reliability, with the opportunity to shape our infrastructure roadmap and engineering practices.

• Design, operate, and scale infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform to support our mobile apps, backend services, and AI-powered features.
• Build and maintain infrastructure as code with Terraform, keeping development, staging, and production environments consistent and reproducible.
• Develop and improve CI/CD pipelines, enabling fast, reliable deployments with automated checks and safe rollback strategies.
• Deploy and manage containerized workloads, improving availability, autoscaling, and resource utilization.
• Strengthen observability through metrics, logs, tracing, and actionable alerts; define and track service reliability targets.
• Lead production incident investigation, document root causes, and implement improvements that prevent recurring issues.
• Improve cloud security through least‑privilege access, secrets management, network controls, and vulnerability remediation.
• Optimize cloud spending and performance through capacity planning, right‑sizing, and workload‑level cost analysis.
• Partner with engineers to remove delivery bottlenecks, automate repetitive operations, and maintain tested backup and recovery procedures.

Требования:

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or Platform Engineering, with hands‑on ownership of production systems.
• Strong production experience with Google Cloud Platform, including compute, networking, IAM, storage, and managed database services.
• Proven experience building and maintaining infrastructure as code using Terraform.
• Hands‑on experience with Docker and running containerized applications on GKE, Cloud Run, or both.
• Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Cloud Build.
• Strong Linux and networking fundamentals, including DNS, HTTP/TLS, load balancing, VPCs, and firewall configuration.
• Experience building monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions using tools such as Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, Prometheus, Grafana, or equivalent platforms.
• Proficiency in Python, Bash, or a similar language for infrastructure automation and operational tooling.
• A track record of troubleshooting production incidents and improving system reliability, security, and cloud cost efficiency.
• Strong ownership, clear communication, and the ability to collaborate with engineers and prioritize effectively in a fast‑moving product environment.
• Experience supporting high‑traffic consumer products, mobile backends, or AI‑powered applications.
• Familiarity with GCP services such as Cloud SQL, Memorystore, Pub/Sub, and Secret Manager.
• Experience with Kubernetes tooling and GitOps workflows, such as Helm and Argo CD.
• Experience operating AI inference workloads or optimizing infrastructure for latency‑sensitive services.
• Experience implementing disaster recovery strategies and validating them through recovery exercises.
