Job summary

Kentkart is seeking an experienced Database Administrator to install, configure, and maintain Oracle and MySQL environments in Konak, Turkey. You will monitor performance, manage RAC/Data Guard, backups, and security while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure reliability and efficiency.

The role requires 3–4 years of DBA experience, strong Linux/Unix skills, and proficiency in SQL/PL-SQL. Familiarity with Oracle ASM, RMAN, and DR concepts is highly valued.

Qualifications

• BS or MS degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Software Engineering or a related field
• English proficiency to work in an international environment
• 3–4 years of database administration experience
• Hands-on experience with Oracle Database 12c and 19c administration
• Experience with Oracle RAC and Data Guard administration, monitoring and troubleshooting
• Experience with Oracle ASM environments
• Experience with Oracle database backup and recovery operations (RMAN)
• Experience with performance monitoring and tuning (AWR/ADDM, plans, waits)
• Proficient in SQL and basic/intermediate PL/SQL
• Experience with MySQL database administration
• Strong Linux/Unix knowledge
• Shell scripting
• Knowledge of security, patching, hardening and access management
• Experience with monitoring, capacity planning, clustering and backups
• Nice to have: Oracle WebLogic, VMware, Docker, Kubernetes
• Experience with PostgreSQL is a plus
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, administer and maintain Oracle and MySQL databases
• Monitor availability, capacity and performance; perform tuning
• Manage Oracle RAC and Data Guard environments
• Handle backup, recovery and disaster recovery processes
• Apply patches, upgrades and security hardening
• Troubleshoot incidents and perform root cause analysis
• Support database design and implementation for new projects
• Prepare and maintain database documentation and standards
• Support database security requirements and security solutions
• Monitor and improve database, cluster and backup environments
• Collaborate with software development, system, infrastructure and operations teams
• Support Linux-based database servers and related security activities
• Research improvements to increase availability, performance and reliability
• Keep up-to-date with new technologies and best practices
