Teknasyon is hiring a Data Engineer to design, scale and operate Kafka-based ingestion pipelines, model data across staging and production, and ensure data quality through monitoring and tests. You will work with product teams to build self-service BI and standardize metrics in a hybrid work environment.

The role emphasizes cost-aware infrastructure, collaboration with analysts and data scientists, and hands-on experience with GCP/BigQuery, Kafka, Airflow, and dbt.

Qualificações

4+ years of data engineering experience.
Production experience with GCP/BigQuery.
Hands-on experience with Kafka and streaming architectures.
Advanced SQL, SQLX and Python skills.
Experience with Airflow/Composer and/or dbt.
Experience with dimensional modeling and event data modeling.
Hands-on with data quality and observability practices.

Responsabilidades

Design, scale and operate Kafka BigQuery ingestion pipelines.
Monitor existing pipelines and step in when failures occur
Add and develop new data sources and connectors
Build and improve SQL pipelines
Take an active role in data modeling and transformation across staging mart layers
Develop data quality tests and set up monitoring and alerting systems
Monitor and optimize costs in GCP and other platforms
Take an active role in infrastructure setup and decisions, and build improvements as needs arise
Provide standards, documentation and training for self-service BI
Collaborate with analysts and data scientists to standardize metric definitions

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

Data Ingestion and Pipeline Operations

Design, scale and operate Kafka BigQuery ingestion pipelines
Monitor existing pipelines and step in when failures occur
Add and develop new data sources and connectors
Build and improve SQL pipelines

Data Modeling and Transformation

Take an active role in data modeling and transformation across the raw staging mart layers, in both stage and prod environments

Data Quality and Observability

Develop data quality tests and set up monitoring and alerting systems

Cost Management

Monitor and optimize GCP and other costs

Infrastructure

Take an active role in infrastructure setup and decisions, and build improvements as needs arise

Self-Service BI and Metric Standards

Provide standards, documentation and training so product teams can do self-service BI
Work with analysts and data scientists to standardize metric definitions
Prepare documentation and training for product teams

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

4+ years of data engineering experience
Production experience with GCP/BigQuery
Hands-on experience with Kafka and streaming architectures
Advanced SQL, SQLX and Python skills
Experience with Airflow/Composer and/or dbt
Experience with dimensional modeling and event data modeling
Hands-on with data quality and observability practices
