Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Aerospace, or Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in system safety and/or certification engineering within aviation or defense
  • In-depth understanding of:
  • Design Assurance Levels (DAL A to E) and implications on development and verification
  • ARP4761, ARP4754A, DO-254, DO-178C
  • FAA/EASA certification processes, including T-PED, HIRF, Lightning, Flammability, and EMI/EMC compliance
  • Familiarity with safety-critical development environments
  • Proficient in creating and maintaining safety and certification documentation
  • Excellent communication skills in English (written & spoken)
  • Team-oriented, proactive, and able to lead technical documentation and reviews
  • Experience with certification tools or requirement management tools (e.g. Polarion, DOORS) is a plus

Job Description

  • Perform Functional Hazard Assessments (FHA), FMEA, FTA, ZSA, CCA, and complete System Safety Assessment (SSA) documentation.
  • Define and justify Design Assurance Levels (DAL A to E) according to ARP4761 and system criticality.
  • Perform MTBF/FIT predictions and reliability analysis for compliance and design validation.
  • Support hardware/software development processes under DO-254, DO-178C, and ARP4754A.
  • Prepare and maintain compliance matrices (EASA/FAA/CS-25/FAR 25).
  • Lead compliance documentation development: PSAC, PHAC, SSMP, SDP, SVP, SQAP and others.
  • Interface with OEMs and regulatory authorities for certification documentation, review cycles, and audits.
  • Ensure traceability from certification requirements to design and test evidence.
  • Participate in project-level PDR/CDR/FCA/PCA reviews, ensuring airworthiness inputs are validated.
