Job summary

XENTRON is seeking an Embedded Systems Engineer to own firmware for the XENTRON Ultra platform — the software driving our XENCHECK and XENFLEET products across Europe. You will develop and maintain firmware for STM32 automotive modules (CAN, LIN, OBD-II).

Responsibilities include implementing secure boot and OTA update logic, collaborating with hardware engineers during PCB bring-up, optimizing power for always-on LTE and GNSS, and maintaining test coverage on embedded targets.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of embedded C/C++ development on ARM Cortex-M.
• Experience with automotive protocols CAN, CAN-FD, LIN, OBD-II.
• Solid understanding of RTOS (FreeRTOS preferred).
• Familiarity with cryptographic primitives and secure boot concepts.
• Experience debugging with JTAG/SWD and logic analyzers.
• English proficiency — engineering documentation is in English.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain firmware for STM32-based automotive modules (CAN, LIN, OBD-II).
• Implement and test cryptographic signing pipelines using secp256k1/secp256r1 via HSM.
• Write OTA update logic with TrustZone rollback protection.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers during PCB bring-up and validation.
• Optimize power profiles for always-on LTE + GNSS operation.
• Document firmware architecture and maintain test coverage on embedded targets.
