Job summary

Amazon Turkey Operasyon Hizmetleri Limited Sirketi seeks an experienced Automation Engineer to join the Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team at IST2 in Istanbul. You will maintain and optimize automated material handling systems, including tote sorters and conveyors, to ensure 24/7 uptime of critical automation.

Responsibilities include PLC programming, SCADA/HMI tuning, root cause analysis, and project leadership for system upgrades.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical-Electronical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Automation Engineering, or related field.
2+ years of experience programming and troubleshooting PLCs (Siemens, or equivalent).
Experience with automated material handling equipment, conveyor systems, or sortation systems.
Knowledge of electrical systems including 3-phase power, motor controls, VFDs, and industrial sensors.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and control system documentation.
Proficiency in English for technical communication and documentation.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and repair automated material handling equipment including tote sorters, conveyors, Ambaflex spirals, and sortation systems.
Program, maintain, and optimize PLCs including Allen Bradley, Siemens, and other industrial control systems.
Monitor and maintain SCADA systems, HMIs, and building management systems.
Perform root cause analysis on automation failures and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Respond to emergency breakdowns and provide technical support for automation systems across all shifts.
Collaborate with Controls Engineering, Operations, and RME teams to implement automation improvements.
Develop and maintain documentation including electrical schematics, PLC programs, and standard operating procedures.
Lead automation projects including system upgrades, installations, and commissioning of new equipment.
Train and mentor technicians on automation systems, troubleshooting techniques, and safety protocols.
Ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety standards, and Amazon's maintenance best practices.
