Job summary

Apilex, an AI-native legal operating system, seeks an Internal Forward Deployed Engineer to work across Sales, Marketing, Product, and other teams. You will translate business problems into AI, automation, and internal software solutions, move quickly from idea to prototypes, and scale successful pilots to production.

You will design AI workflows, agents, and integrations, track adoption, and help build reusable platform capabilities that accelerate legal workflows for our diverse markets.

Apilex is an AI-native legal operating system that manages lawyers' entire legal workflows end to end, powered by AI systems purpose-built for each jurisdiction's legal framework. We bring legal research, drafting of pleadings and contracts, document analysis, and case preparation together in a single experience. For this reason, we are looking for an Internal Forward Deployed Engineer who will work directly with Sales, Marketing, Product, Customer Success, Legal, Finance, HR, and other teams to understand real business problems and turn them into AI, automation, and internal software solutions.

What You Will Do

• Work directly with different departments across the company to understand business problems and bottlenecks
• Translate business problems into AI, automation, and software solutions
• Move quickly from ideas to working prototypes
• Turn successful prototypes into production-ready systems
• Track adoption and the impact of the solutions developed
• Transform needs coming from different departments into reusable platform and product capabilities

AI & Automation

• Identify AI and automation opportunities within departmental workflows
• Eliminate repetitive tasks through AI agents, workflows, and automation
• Develop AI agents, internal tools, and integrations
• Build LLM-based workflows and agent systems
• Connect existing systems through APIs, webhooks, and event-driven integrations
• Develop small internal applications and dashboards when needed

Cross-functional Problem Solving

• Work in an embedded capacity with Sales, Marketing, Product, Customer Success, Legal, Finance, and HR teams
• Reduce manual handoffs and unnecessary operational steps between departments
• Build systems that enable information to move faster and more accurately across departments
• Identify company-wide bottlenecks and develop solutions that effectively address them
• Develop systems that automatically track important developments across the company
• Monitor industry, competitors, technology, and market developments using AI-powered systems
• Build workflows that automatically filter and summarize the information needed by leadership
• Develop internal intelligence systems that ensure the right information reaches the right person at the right time

What We Are Looking For

• Someone who doesn't just use AI, but builds systems that work with AI
• Experienced with LLM APIs, AI agents, APIs, webhooks, and databases
• Able to build AI workflows and agent systems end to end
• Able to take ideas from prototype to production
• Capable of building internal tools and small applications
• Able to use no-code/low-code tools when appropriate, without being dependent on them
• Enjoys working with non-technical teams and understanding their problems
• Able to analyze ambiguous problems and turn them into working solutions
• Asks "Why are we doing this this way?" and challenges existing processes
• Goes beyond identifying problems and takes ownership of implementing solutions
• Combines a strong product mindset with solid engineering skills
