Role Overview
As the AI Engineering Manager at lumaq.ai, you will lead the technical architecture of our autonomous software development platform while serving as the strategic technical voice in front of Fortune 500 C-level executives during sales engagements.
This role combines hands-on technical leadership (Multi-Agent Orchestration, Air-Gapped/On-Premise Architecture) with C-suite level communication strength. You will direct and mentor the engineering team while effectively showcasing lumaq.ai's technical depth and vision to enterprise decision-makers such as CTOs and CIOs.
Key Responsibilities

- Agent Architecture & Orchestration: Design production-grade Multi-Agent systems, code generation/analysis workflows, context management (RAG/Context), and self-healing error recovery mechanisms.
- Enterprise Security & On-Premise Integration: Ensure seamless, fully secure operation in air-gapped, on-premise, and private cloud environments, integrating with stacks like Jira, GitHub Enterprise, GitLab, and Kubernetes.
- Model Strategy & Performance: Architect model routing, cost/latency optimization, and evaluation (evals) frameworks across local LLMs (vLLM, Ollama) and commercial APIs.
Key Requirements
- Experience: 8+ years of total experience in Software Engineering and AI, with at least 3+ years in a technical leadership role (Engineering Manager, Head of Engineering, Lead Architect, or hands-on CTO/Director).
- Executive Communication & Field Presence: Proven ability to engage directly with C-level technical decision-makers and articulate complex AI architectures clearly and convincingly to top executives.
- Hands-On Agentic AI: Deep practical experience with multi-agent orchestration frameworks (e.g., LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen), tool calling, and local LLM serving.
- Software & Systems Architecture: Mastery of Python, distributed/asynchronous systems, API design, and event-driven architectures.
- On-Premise & Security: Practical experience deploying containerized stacks (Docker, K8s, OpenShift) in air-gapped/on-premise environments, with a strong grasp of RBAC and sandboxed code execution.
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
Strong Plus
- Background as a founder, CTO, or VP of Engineering in early-stage B2B AI or DevTools companies.
- Experience building autonomous coding tools (e.g., Devin, Cursor, Copilot) or developer platforms.
- Experience in highly regulated, high-security industries such as Finance, Telecom, or Defense.
