Job summary

EPAM Systems is seeking an AI Architect with strong governance expertise to design and govern enterprise AI architectures enabling Predictive, Generative, and Agentic AI across the organization.

You will lead architecture across data, model, application, orchestration, and infrastructure layers, shaping patterns for RAG, AI orchestration, and knowledge management while ensuring security, compliance, and Responsible AI controls.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in enterprise/solution/AI architecture roles with leadership across lifecycle.
• Expertise in predictive AI, generative AI, agentic AI, and conversational AI architectures.
• Proficiency in RAG, multi-agent systems, prompt engineering, context engineering, and AI orchestration patterns.
• Knowledge of foundation models, agent platforms, and vector databases.
• Familiarity with MLOps, LLMOps, AgentOps, and observability capabilities.
• Understanding of Responsible AI principles including content safety, privacy controls, and human-in-the-loop design.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain enterprise AI reference architectures, blueprints, standards, and design patterns.
• Shape solution architectures for AI use cases across predictive, generative, agentic, conversational, document intelligence, and automation domains.
• Evaluate architectural trade-offs involving scalability, resiliency, security, performance, and cost, and define future-state AI architecture roadmaps.
• Lead architecture design and solution shaping activities spanning data, model, application, orchestration, integration, and infrastructure layers.
• Design patterns for RAG, agentic AI, multi-agent systems, prompt engineering, context engineering, AI orchestration, model serving, and knowledge management.
• Conduct architecture reviews and governance checkpoints, and provide design authority and architecture sign-off for AI solutions.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise standards, security requirements, risk controls, and regulatory obligations, and maintain architecture decision records.
• Define and implement architecture controls supporting Responsible AI, including content safety, hallucination mitigation, evaluation frameworks, human-in-the-loop controls, explainability, and privacy protections.
• Partner with Risk, Compliance, Legal, Security, and Governance teams to embed controls into the AI lifecycle.
• Evaluate emerging AI platforms, tooling, and frameworks, and define technical direction for foundation models, agent platforms, vector databases, and MLOps/LLMOps/AgentOps capabilities.
• Act as the primary liaison between business teams and the AI Center of Excellence, and support enterprise architecture forums and governance boards.
• Facilitate architecture workshops and design sessions, mentor architecture analysts and engineering teams, and communicate architecture decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders

• Proficiency in RAG, multi-agent systems, prompt engineering, context engineering, and AI orchestration patterns
• Knowledge of foundation models, agent platforms, and vector databases
• Familiarity with MLOps, LLMOps, AgentOps, and observability capabilities
• Understanding of Responsible AI principles, including content safety, hallucination mitigation, explainability, privacy controls, and human-in-the-loop design
• Background in architecture governance, including architecture reviews, design authority, risk identification, and decision documentation
• Skills in stakeholder engagement, facilitating architecture workshops, and mentoring architecture and engineering teams
• Competency in translating business objectives into technology architectures aligned with enterprise standards and strategic roadmaps
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher
