Job summary

Motlow State Community College is accepting applications for an Adjunct Sociology Faculty (Pool) position. This pool position supports instruction across multiple campuses in Middle Tennessee.

Responsibilities include teaching courses as assigned, maintaining syllabi, assessing student performance, and providing academic guidance. Master’s degree required; Ph.D. preferred with CC teaching experience. This is a contingent, non-tenure track posting.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Sociology or a qualifying field from a regionally accredited institution by the application date.
• Minimum 18 graduate semester hours in discipline or a qualifying field earned from a regionally accredited college or university by the application date.
• Qualifying field: Sociology

Responsibilities

• Teach courses as assigned in accordance with the catalog and syllabus.
• Teach dual enrollment classes at area high schools as assigned.
• Travel to multiple campuses as assigned.
• Collaborate with faculty and leadership on curricular issues and needs.
• Support students, strategic plan, and college operations.
• Teach up to 12 credit hours per semester as assigned.
• Maintain availability to communicate with and meet students regarding coursework.
