Job summary

MKS DevO Chemicals is seeking an experienced Occupational Safety Expert to lead the OHS program in Bandırma. The role emphasizes planning, implementation, and monitoring of safety initiatives in a chemical facility, ensuring compliance with national regulations and company QMS.

The candidate will oversee training, risk assessments, incident reporting, and emergency drills, while driving continuous improvement of OHS practices on site.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of OHS experience in the chemical industry.
• Overseas/ international experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of OHS regulations and standards.
• Turkish residency in Bandırma or Gönen preferred.
• Good command of English preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in chemical field required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver internal and external OHS trainings.
• Administer and lead the OHS team, delegate tasks and monitor feedback.
• Conduct OHS risk assessments and implement controls.
• Investigate work accidents and near misses and report findings.
• Prepare emergency plans and organize drills and records.
• Develop and follow OHS audit plans and field inspections.

Job description:

• Planning and implementing internal and external training related to Occupational Health and Safety,
• Administration and management of the occupational safety team, making task delegations, receiving and controlling feedbacks from the team.
• To carry out occupational safety risk assessment studies,
• Carrying out and reporting work accidents and near-miss events,
• Preparing an emergency plan and organizing drills, reporting,
• To prepare the work safety field audit plan, to perform the field inspections and to report,
• To follow OHS regulations and to continuously improve OHS management system practices,
• To carry out the necessary investigations and studies regarding the OHS in relation to the activities carried out and the changes in the fields of work,
• To prepare the necessary statistics, annual work plan and reporting on OHS,
• Providing guidance and consultancy services to all units on OHS,
• To work in accordance with current and future documentation and working system of MKS DevO Chemicals in ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 18001 standards,
• To carry out the necessary filing reporting studies on all projects to which it is responsible, and to report to the Responsible Manager and the Coordinator.
