Job summary

CHYE JOO CONSTRUCTION PTE LTD seeks a Workplace Safety Health Officer to lead and drive operational WSH initiatives on construction sites in Singapore, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and fostering a culture of safety across projects.

You will conduct inspections and audits, collaborate with project teams and occupiers to implement safety measures, monitor performance metrics, and respond promptly to incidents to prevent recurrence, supporting lifecycle safety.

Qualifications

• Registration with MOM as a WSHO.
• Level C certification in WSH or a Degree in WSH.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience as a WSH Officer.
• Willingness to work beyond standard hours with compensatory time off.

Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation of workplace safety and health (WSH) protocols in compliance with legal requirements to maintain safe construction sites
• Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify hazards and enforce corrective actions that mitigate risks on-site
• Collaborate with occupiers and project teams to develop and execute safety measures that prevent workplace incidents and promote a safe working environment
• Monitor and report on safety performance metrics to drive continuous improvement in occupational safety and health standards
• Respond proactively to safety concerns and incidents, coordinating timely investigations and follow-up actions to prevent recurrence
• Support the organization in fulfilling all operational WSH duties to uphold safe construction practices throughout the project lifecycle
• Perform additional occupational safety and health tasks as assigned to support overall site safety and compliance objectives

Required competencies and certifications

• Registration with the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) as a Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO)
• Level C certification in Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) or a Degree in WSH

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years' experience as a WSH Officer, preferably in public infrastructure projects
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a team player with diligence and responsibility
• Willingness to work beyond standard hours with compensatory time off as required
• Remuneration will be commensurate with the candidate's relevant construction industry experience and project involvement.
