A leading construction company is seeking a Workplace Safety & Health Officer to oversee the establishment and maintenance of Safety & Health Management Systems on-site. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in workplace safety regulations, hold a valid WSHO license, and possess at least 5 years of experience in the construction industry. This position involves conducting safety training, inspections, and ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety policies.
Responsibilities
Spearhead the establishment and maintenance of Safety & Health Management Systems (SHMS) on-site
Implement and uphold project and corporate SHMS protocols Identify, assess, and mitigate workplace and process-related risks
Propose and enforce safe work procedures Enhance workplace safety performance through strategic measures
Ensure adherence to Company’s Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies and standards Ensure compliance with Statutory Requirements under MOM and NEA
Contribute actively to the corporate EHS Committee Conduct in-house safety training sessions Develop and execute EHS plans, trainings, meetings, and promotional activities
Conduct routine workplace inspections to identify and address hazards and risks promptly Enforce EHS / OSH regulations at the workplace
Serve as secretary for the WSH Committee and preside in the absence of the chairman
Investigate, manage, report, and collaborate with relevant stakeholders on accidents or EHS non-compliance incidents
Undertake additional duties as assigned by superiors
Requirements
Proficient in the Workplace Safety & Health Act and other regulatory requirements
Must possess WSHO license and familiarity with safety audits
Minimum 5 years of experience in the local Building and Construction industry
Bachelor's Degree preferred
Completion of a full cycle of HDB BTO project is advantageous
Excellent communication skills and a positive working attitude
