Job description

Workplace Safety Management

  • Assist WSHO to maintain & update the SHMS

  • Coordinate with sub-cons’ WSHC/Safety Supervisors on EHS issues

  • Assist WSHO to review RA & SWP

  • Carry out daily inspection to ensure all works are carried out in a safe manner through elimination of unsafe acts and unsafe conditions on site

  • Assist WSHO for EHS promotion and trainings to all workers & colleagues for greater awareness & culture.

  • Carry out inspection, examining machinery and equipment, level of noise, heat or harmful or hazardous substances in the workplace.

  • To assume the role of safety assessor in the Permit-to-work (PTW) system

  • Assist to conduct regular Toolbox meetings with emphasis on safety aspects

  • Ensure full compliance to all statutory safety requirements such as those pertaining to work platforms, gondolas, scaffolds and the maintenance and certification of all machinery and equipment on site

  • To maintain all safety documentations and records on site

  • Conduct In–house training

  • Assist in Investigation, handle, report and liaise with relevant parties for accidents or EHS non-compliance.

  • To lead safety workers to rectify all unsafe condition

Environmental Management

  • Assist PM to prepare Earth Control Measure plan.

  • Prepare and submit a Site Environmental Control Programme to the PM.

  • Assist to set up site ECM system.

  • Monitor, maintain the ECM to ensure effectiveness.

  • Inspect the site to ensure all facilities and equipment relevant to the maintenance of environmental health are in proper working condition.

  • Report and submit a Site Environment Control Report.

  • Make available to PUB, NEA Officers at all times of visits.

  • Organize campaigns, training to develop the interest of workers in maintaining good environmental health standards.

Project Budget Control

  • Implement effective safety provision and environmental control to reduce fine.

  • Prepare ECM budget for approval.

  • Achieve ZERO accident rate.

Technical Understanding

  • Understand the Environmental, Workplace Safety & Health Act & other regulatory requirements.
