A leading company in the food sector is seeking a Workplace, Safety & Hygiene (WSH) Manager to ensure compliance with food safety standards and promote a culture of safety across all outlets. The successful candidate will lead a team responsible for developing effective safety systems, conducting audits, and training staff. Job Overview
The Workplace, Safety & Hygiene (WSH) Manager plays a critical role in ensuring a safe, hygienic, and compliant work environment across all outlets. This role leads the WSH team in developing and implementing effective food safety and workplace safety systems, in line with Singapore’s regulatory requirements and industry best practices. The WSH Manager proactively identifies risks, drives a culture of safety and hygiene, and ensures readiness for audits and inspections.
Key Responsibilities
Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management
Conduct regular food safety, workplace safety, and hygiene audits across all outlets to ensure compliance with Singapore Food Agency (SFA), NEA, WSH Council, and other applicable regulations.
Identify risks and recommend corrective/preventive actions, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution.
Lead the investigation of workplace incidents, produce reports, and advise stakeholders on improvements.
Leadership & Team Management
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 2 WSH members to ensure consistent standards and execution of safety and hygiene programs across all outlets.
Delegate tasks effectively, review performance, and guide the team in continuous improvement efforts.
System Development & Audit Readiness
Maintain and enhance the Food Safety Management System (FSMS) to meet ISO 22000, HACCP, and other audit requirements.
Implement a digital audit scoring and tracking system to standardize reporting and improve visibility of compliance performance.
Oversee the WSH aspects of new outlet openings, including pre-opening audits and compliance checks.
Training & Engagement
Conduct regular training, briefings, and engagement activities to reinforce good hygiene and safety practices among outlet staff and unit managers.
Drive awareness and ownership of safety standards at all levels of the organization.
Stakeholder Communication
Liaise with internal departments, clients, and authorities during inspections, investigations, and committee meetings.
Participate in customer-chaired on-site safety committees and represent the company professionally.
Other Duties
Take on special projects and assignments as directed by the supervisor or management.
