Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO)

Responsibilities

• Monitor EHS performance through audits, certifications, and assurance programs; track progress and implement actions for continuous improvement.
• Evaluate health and safety practices, perform risk assessments, and ensure alignment with legal requirements.
• Investigate workplace incidents to determine root causes and implement corrective and preventive measures.
• Conduct training sessions on accident prevention and overall health and safety practices.
• Inspect equipment and work areas to identify and address unsafe conditions.
• Recommend improvements and preventive actions to resolve safety concerns and enhance workplace safety.
• Support the implementation of global EHS strategies, ensuring compliance with relevant safety regulations and standards.

Requirements

• Minimum degree in Business, Engineering, Facilities Management, Building Services, or a related field.
• Certified Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO), recognized by the Ministry of Manpower in Singapore.
• Registered Fire Safety Manager, accredited by the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF).
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in safety management within the chemical manufacturing or a related high-risk industry.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage diverse, multi-cultural teams effectively.
• Well-versed in ISO 45001 standards and other relevant safety certifications.
