Job summary

A leading company in the construction sector is seeking a Workplace Safety and Health Officer to ensure compliance with safety regulations and oversee safety standards on-site. The successful candidate will conduct inspections, report on safety issues, and assist in the implementation of safety initiatives, working closely with various stakeholders. Strong communication and integrity are essential, along with at least 3 years of relevant experience and certification.

Qualifications

  • Must be a registered WSHO under Singapore’s Ministry of Manpower.
  • 3 years of practical experience as a WSHO or equivalent.
  • Relevant experience in managing safety for local construction projects.

Responsibilities

Job description

Job Scope

  • Conduct regular site inspections and submit reports.
  • Identify safety lapses and ensure corrective actions.

Support incident investigations and follow-up on safety violations.

  • Upload safety documentation (e.g., inspection reports, photos) into Client’s digital repository (OPTIMUS CDE).
  • Assist in implementing Client’s safety initiatives (e.g., open reporting, safety trials).
  • Attend safety meetings and provide feedback to Client’s Safety Managers.

Requirements

  • Must be a registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) under Singapore’s Ministry of Manpower (MOM).
  • Must have 3 years of practical experience as a WSHO (or equivalent role).
  • Relevant experience in managing WSH of local building / infrastructure construction projects
  • Must pass security clearance for Client's projects and access to classified information.
  • Soft Skills:

o High integrity, self-discipline, and motivation to work independently.

o Strong team player with ability to assist others.

  • Communication:

o Effective in managing stakeholders (e.g., JTC, contractors, workers).

o Ability to cascade safety policies clearly.

  • Technical Skills:

o Proficient in report writing and basic IT tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

o Experience with technology adoption (e.g., e-PTW systems, drones, video analytics, AI for safety surveillance).
