Job summary

Mandai Nature, the conservation arm of Mandai Wildlife Group in Singapore, seeks a Scientific Leader to drive wildlife health and disease research across urban and managed wildlife. You will craft a roadmap connecting clinical cases, genomics, diagnostics and environmental surveillance, creating decision-support tools and risk dashboards.

You will lead competitive grant applications, build regional collaborations, and mentor a diverse team of researchers and trainees.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent in Veterinary Infectious Disease Genetics and/or Veterinary Epidemiology or related field.
• Postdoctoral training or independent research experience in wildlife health would be advantageous.
• Experience in grant management, compliance, and project leadership.
• At least 5 years of research leadership in wildlife health or related fields.
• Proven ability to design multidisciplinary projects integrating lab, field and data science.
• Experience with wildlife or non-model species samples and ecological health data.

Responsibilities

• Lead a wildlife health and disease research programme focused on Singapore’s urban wildlife and animals under human care.
• Develop a research roadmap linking clinical cases, genomics, diagnostics and environmental data.
• Build an integrated wildlife health intelligence system using diverse data streams.
• Lead grant applications and donor proposals; report to funders and ensure milestones.
• Collaborate with regional partners to develop joint proposals and capacity-building programs.
• Mentor research staff and trainees; promote open discourse and high performance.
