The Department of Student Services is seeking a passionate, dedicated professional to enhance student well-being and foster a mentally healthy school community. This role requires both interpersonal and organizational skills to engage with students, staff, and external partners in promoting mental wellness.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and evaluate programs and initiatives that promote student mental wellness.
Facilitate and organize mental health training sessions for students and staff to enhance mental health literacy and peer support networks.
Develop and distribute mental health resources, ensuring students can easily access information and support services.
Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to provide students with comprehensive mental health support.
Provide administrative support to the counselling team for mental health initiatives and outreach efforts.
Requirements
A relevant qualification in counselling, psychology, social work, or a related field.
Demonstrate strong understanding of youth mental health issues, evidence-based interventions, and best practices in program development.
Experience and passion working with youth in education or social service settings.
Strong communication and administrative skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently as well as within a team.
Preferred experience (an advantage but not required):
Developing and executing mental well-being programs.
Using digital tools to enhance mental health support and outreach efforts.
Working with youth from diverse backgrounds, including those with special needs or mental health conditions.
Successful applicant will be offered a 2-year contract in the first instance.
