Job summary

RELIANT HUMAN RESOURCE PTE. LTD. seeks an experienced welder with shipyard exposure to read blueprints, measure precisely, cut and shape materials, and weld structures. The role involves leading teams, ensuring quality, and adhering to safety standards in a busy shipyard setting.

Applicants should hold a welding certificate and a Shipyard Safety Supervisor Course, with a minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in welding, fabrication and assembly. Singapore-based position with onsite work.

Qualifications

• Must possess welding certificate.
• Attained Shipyard Safety Supervisor Course with min 10 years experience.
• Read blueprints and drawings to plan layout and procedures.
• Take measurements and calculate material quantities accordingly.
• Experience with cutting, shaping and finishing lumber or fiberglass.
• Ability to weld components in various positions and inspect results.

Responsibilities

• Manage, guide, coordinate and lead operation and admin teams.
• Read blueprints and take measurements to plan layout and procedures.
• Set up components for welding and use powered saws as needed.
• Weld components and repair machinery in multiple positions.
• Inspect welded surfaces and ensure structural integrity.
• Build frames, scaffolding, doors and furniture as required.

Job description

• Manage, guide, coordinate and lead with the operation team and administration team together
• Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to fully grasp requirements
• Take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed
• Cut, shape and smooth lumber and other material (e.g. fiberglass) according to measurements
• Build window frames, doors, staircases and frame buildings by using raw materials or pre-constructed items
• Lay out floorings, roofings or drywalls ensuring they are leveled and compatible
• Carve and assemble furniture, cabinets, shelves and other items and install them where designated
• Inspect places and conduct repairs or maintenance
• Build scaffolding and other construction structures
• Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures
• Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements
• Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements)
• Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded
• Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces
• Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead)
• Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps
• Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws
• Attained Shipyard Safety Supervisor Course with min 10 years experience
• Must possess welding certificate.
