Job summary

EVOLUTION ENGINEERING & CONSTRUCTION PTE. LTD. in Singapore is seeking a skilled welder to join our fabrication team. The role covers SMAW, MIG, TIG, gas welding and 6G pipe welding in 1G–4G and pipe projects.

You will read technical drawings, perform measurements, operate hand and power tools, and ensure safety and quality with PPE and housekeeping. Candidates should be proficient in cutting (oxy-acetylene, plasma) and be able to work in workshops and on sites.

Qualifications

• Have practical skills in SMAW, MIG, TIG, gas welding and brazing.
• Be proficient in plate welding positions 1G to 4G and pipe welding in the 6G position.
• Have experience in oxy-acetylene cutting, plasma cutting, steel fabrication and pipe fitting.
• Be able to read technical drawings and welding symbols and perform basic measurement calculations.
• Be familiar with the safe operation of welding equipment, hand tools and power tools.
• Be able to follow safety requirements, maintain work quality and work effectively under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Perform Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) in 1G, 2G, 3G and 4G positions.
• Carry out 6G pipe welding using electric arc welding techniques.
• Perform MIG/GMAW and TIG/GTAW welding for plate and pipe applications.
• Carry out gas welding and brazing works as required.
• Perform oxy-acetylene cutting and plasma cutting operations.
• Carry out steel fabrication and pipe fitting in accordance with technical drawings and specifications.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, welding symbols and fabrication specifications.
• Apply basic mathematical skills to calculate dimensions, angles and material requirements.
• Operate hand tools and power tools safely, including hammers, clamps, chipping hammers, grinders, drills and magnetic drills.
• Use measuring instruments, including Vernier calipers, steel rules, squares and micrometers, to ensure dimensional accuracy.
• Produce quality weld beads and padding using SMAW and other applicable welding processes.
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including welding helmets, gloves, protective aprons and safety shoes.
• Maintain good housekeeping by keeping the work area clean, storing tools properly and disposing of welding waste safely.
• Follow workplace safety procedures, supervisor instructions and company rules.
• Perform welding, fabrication and pipe-fitting activities in workshops, fabrication facilities and construction sites, as assigned.
