Job summary

EVERLLENCE SINGAPORE PTE. LTD. seeks a skilled welder to perform on-site welding at shipyards and vessels, applying SMAW, GTAW, MIG, and TIG on carbon steel, stainless steel, and cast iron.

You will follow drawings and welding symbols, prepare metal surfaces, verify welds visually, and maintain equipment in 5S condition while complying with WSH and marine safety protocols. Travel to customer sites including boarding ships and working in yards is required, with certifications in confined space,

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years welding experience in a workshop, marine, or industrial setting.
  • Proficient in SMAW, GTAW, MIG and TIG welding.
  • Able to read technical drawings and welding symbols.
  • Willingness to travel for site welding, including boarding ships.
  • Experience with marine engine components or heavy equipment preferred.
  • Marine/offshore welding standards familiarity (ABS, DNV, Lloyd’s Register).
  • Certifications in confined space entry, hot work, or working at height.

Responsibilities

  • Perform welding using SMAW, GTAW, MIG, and TIG on carbon steel, stainless steel, and cast iron.
  • Follow work instructions and welding symbols to ensure correct fabrication.
  • Prepare materials, fit-up, and alignment for welding.
  • Visually inspect welds and prepare pieces for quality inspection.
  • Carry out cutting, grinding, finishing as part of welding tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with welding procedures, specs, and safety.
  • Complete welding reports and documentation.
  • Maintain tools, machines, and work area per 5S.
  • Support workshop and site operations.
  • Travel to customer sites to perform on-site welding, including boarding ships.
  • Comply with WSH Act and company HSE policies.
  • Participate in safety briefings and risk assessments.
  • Report unsafe acts or incidents promptly.
  • Assist in site audits and inspections.

Job description

Key Tasks & Responsibilities
  • Perform welding operations using processes such as SMAW, GTAW, MIG, and TIG on various metals including carbon steel, stainless steel, and cast iron.
  • Follow work instructions, technical drawings, and welding symbols to ensure correct fabrication and repairs.
  • Conduct pre-weld preparation activities including material cleaning, fit-up, and alignment.
  • Inspect own welds visually and prepare workpieces for quality inspection by supervisors or quality personnel.
  • Carry out basic cutting, grinding, and finishing work as part of welding and fabrication tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with welding procedures, project specifications, and safety requirements.
  • Complete welding job reports and related documentation as required.
  • Maintain welding tools, machines, and work area in good condition following 5S standards.
  • Support workshop and site operations as instructed by the Foreman or Assistant Foreman.
  • Travel to customer sites, shipyards, or vessels to perform on-site welding works, including boarding of vessels while adhering to marine and offshore safety protocols.
  • Comply with Singapore’s Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Act and company HSE policies at all times.
  • Participate in safety briefings, toolbox talks, and risk assessments.
  • Report any unsafe acts, near misses, or incidents promptly.
  • Support site audits and inspections when required by regulatory bodies or internal stakeholders.
Experience & Skills
  • Minimum 2 years of welding experience in a workshop, marine, or industrial setting.
  • Skilled in at least one or more welding processes (SMAW, GTAW, MIG,TIG).
  • Ability to work independently and follow instructions under minimal supervision.
  • Willingness and ability to travel for site welding jobs, including boarding ships or working in shipyards.
    Experience with welding marine engine components or similar heavy equipment.
  • Familiarity with offshore or marine welding standards (e.g., ABS, DNV, Lloyd’s Register).
  • Certified in confined space entry, hot work, or working at height.
