Job summary

GE-Vernova- is seeking a skilled TIG welder to set up and perform welding on high-temperature alloy components, including turbine blades, following approved work instructions.

The role requires reading procedures, maintaining quality, supporting continuous improvement, and willingness to work rotating shifts; on-the-job training is provided for candidates with or without prior experience.

Qualifications

• Secondary education or equivalent qualification.
• NITEC in Mechanical Engineering, Welding Technology, or related discipline preferred.
• Experience in TIG welding and aerospace/manufacturing is advantageous.
• Structured on-the-job training will be provided for suitable candidates.

Responsibilities

• Set up and perform TIG welding on high-temperature alloy components for turbine blade repair.
• Perform blending and repair activities on turbine blade components per instructions and quality standards.
• Ensure product quality, maintain equipment care, targets, housekeeping and schedules.
• Comply with EHS requirements and report unsafe conditions or practices.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within workshop and production processes.

Job Description Summary

Perform all types of welding and metal fabrication works in accordance to work instructions. You will need to perform simple to complex welding. The person will report to the Operations Leader.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and perform TIG welding on high-temperature alloy components for the repair of turbine blades and related products.
• Perform blending and repair activities on turbine blade components in accordance with approved work instructions and quality standards.
• Ensure product quality requirements are met while maintaining equipment care, production targets, housekeeping, and schedules.
• Comply with all applicable Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) requirements and promptly report any unsafe conditions or practices.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the workshop and production processes.
• Carry out other duties as assigned.

Qualifications / Requirements

• Secondary education or equivalent qualification.
• NITEC in Mechanical Engineering, Welding Technology, or a related technical discipline is preferred.
• Experience in TIG welding, welding operations, aerospace, manufacturing, engineering, or a related field is advantageous.
• Candidates without relevant experience are welcome to apply. Structured on-the-job training will be provided for suitable candidates.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions, safety procedures, and production documentation.
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
• Willingness and ability to work rotating shifts.
